How to cancel YouTube Premium
Deactivate YouTube Premium from Paid memberships. You can pause instead if you only want a break.
Steps to cancel YouTube Premium
On the website
- Go to youtube.com/paid_memberships and sign in with the account that pays.
- Select Manage membership next to YouTube Premium.
- Select Deactivate, then Continue to cancel.
- Choose a reason if asked and confirm.
If you subscribed through Apple
- Cancel it in your Apple subscriptions instead; see our iPhone guide.
Before you cancel
- You can pause the membership instead of cancelling.
- Family plan members lose access when the plan owner cancels.
- Premium benefits continue until the end of the paid period.
What happens after you cancel
Premium features like ad-free playback and background play end at the close of the billing period.

Does cancelling YouTube Premium also cancel YouTube Music?
Premium includes YouTube Music. A separate Music Premium plan, if you have one, is a different membership.
Which account do I cancel from?
The Google account that pays. Switch accounts in the profile menu if needed.
